Thank you to our guest speakers from 2023 who have helped vaccinate over 200 children against polio!
The club appreciates the time and effort it takes our speakers to prepare and present at club meetings. We have had a wide and varied guest list this year and all our club members are more aware of our world and how we can make a positive impact as Rotarians.
In return, our club donates money to the Polio Plus campaign to vaccinate 10 children from the ravages of polio. It only costs US$3 or ~ AU$4.60 to fully vaccinate one child, so this year we have donated over AU $1000. December for Rotarians worldwide is where we focus on disease prevention and treatment and it is our club's custom to donate the money towards vaccines at this time. Further, this year the club donated an additional $1000 to the Polio Plus campaign for World Polio Day.
In 2023 we have had 24 guest speakers, meaning we are donating enough money to vaccinate 240 children. Our guest speakers in 2023 were:
