His image was taken prior to the start of the Wynnum Wheelchair Challenge 2024, where representatives from the community and all levels of government were invited to complete challenges around the Wynnum CBD to highlight accessibility issues.

International Women's Day Breakfast 2025*** Unfortunately, our International Women's Day Breakfast 2025 was cancelled due to Cyclone Alfred. We are disappointed to miss out on this fantastic annual event, but we promise it will be back in 2026 *** The International Women's Day Breakfast is not to be missed and this year it will be held on Friday 7 March 2025 7:15am-8:30am at Wynnum Golf Club. The theme for International Women's Day is 'Accelerate Action' and our guest speaker is the incredible Alison (Ali) Maher who has excelled in triathlon and business. It is set to be an incredible and inspiration morning! As always, there will be plenty of raffle prizes, with funds supporting Ali's charity of choice, 4 voices who provide safe spaces for women and girls in need. ![]() |

Walk against Domestic ViolenceSay "NO" to domestic violence! The Rotary Club of Wynnum and Manly held a Walk against Domestic Violence along the Wynnum/Manly foreshore on Sunday 1 December. Every Friday, Rotarians can be seen in local cafes wearing purple shirts to raise awareness of the impact of domestic violence in our community. The walk aimed to bring further attention to this important cause and was supported by Rosie's Friends on the Street and Zonta and had representatives from Queensland Police. ![]() |

Wynnum Wheelchair Challenge 2024The Wynnum Wheelchair Challenge 2024 on 28 November was a fantastic initiative to bring awareness of inaccessibility issues of the Wynnum CBD. Participants included representatives of all levels of parliament, representatives from local businesses and even Para-Olympian, Rachael Watson. Participants were asked to use a wheelchair to complete challenges which including shopping tasks, accessing pubic toilets etc. Think the Greatest Race in wheelchairs! Foundation Dinner Success!The Foundation Dinner 2024 was a huge success with over $6000 raised for Rotary's Polio Plus campaign. Almost 100 guests enjoyed the evening, including Members from several Rotary clubs, Past District Governor Paul Roger and partners and friends of the club. We had the honour of awarding 2 Paul Harris Fellowships to Marilyne Jacob (Co-ordinator of Pete’s Pantry) and Senior Sergeant Chris Hebblethwaite (South Brisbane District Crime Prevention Unit), for their outstanding work in our Bayside community. Santa's coming to town!![]() Wynnum and Manly Santa refurbishment project has been in full swing! The Santas displayed on local businesses have been an iconic part of Christmas in the Bayside area for over 40 years. Our club has been proud to run this project for 28 of those years. In 2024, club members have been working hard, just like Santa's elves replacing old Santas and our new ones are ready to go! Thank you to Bunnings Manly West, Taubmans, Wynnum Manly and Districts Men's Shed for their generous sponsorship of this year's refurbishment project. Foundation Dinner 2024 Join us for ![]() After there only being 3 cases of polio in the world last year, it is really disturbing to see a re-emergence of polio in Gaza this year. Without ongoing vaccination worldwide, polio could become a threat to us all within a decade. Last year, our club donated over $1500 to the Rotary Foundation. Thank you for your support. PNG Fundraiser![]() The Rotary Club of Wynnum and Manly is hosting a fundraiser for the PNG Landslide recovery efforts. The club has already committed $2000 and is looking to substantially increase our donation. Our guest speaker will be Gabriel Andandi, a Rotarian, who is also a local Papua New Guinean from the region who will share his intimate knowledge of the affected village and the devastation that the landslide and flooding has caused. Tanna VanuatuOur club recently completed an international project in Tanna Vanuatu. Our club funded the installation of water tanks and completed some roof repairs on a clinic and maternity ward.
